Wholesomeness
Wholesomeness is a rare quality—even more rare in mental health, but is it attainable? Individuals with emotional or psychological distress often want to feel whole but grapple with the question of whether that is possible. When an individual is supported with compassion, evidence based care and a strong therapeutic alliance, wholeness becomes possible.
Intrinsic in every human is the need to be loved, to be accepted and valued. These needs transcend culture, background and diagnosis. At Counselling Associates, every client is defined first as a human created with a sense of worth and dignity. You are not defined by your mental status or diagnosis. Throughout our lifetime, most people will be confronted with life issues that are challenging, some may be genetic, others situational, therapy is one of the pathways people take to explore or process these challenges and it is often seen as a journey. When the right atmosphere supports the journey, wholeness no longer becomes out of reach.
At Counseling Associates, we provide an atmosphere of positive regard and unconditional love. In such an atmosphere, individuals often discover their own capacity to make changes that foster healing and growth. We draw from several science based therapeutic approaches, including Christian or faith‑based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client‑Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy. Because therapy is about meeting people where they are, it is tailored to best meet each person’s needs, goals and worldview.
About Me
I live on the North Shore and I am a licensed Mental Health Clinician, with a Masters in Mental Health and Family. I serve adults 18 and older, addressing a broad range of mental health issues. With more than 20 years of experience in an international nonprofit as a women’s leader and mentor, I bring a deep understanding of multicultural dynamics, hope in the midst of despair, and human connection—such as compassion, empathy, and warmth—to my clinical work.
Human connection is a value we are quickly losing in our technology-ridden culture today. Therapy puts you in the path of attaining wholeness, and it is a collaborative relationship because it can often be hard, and you don’t have to take this journey alone. It will be my privilege to collaborate with you as you navigate your mental health challenges, relationships, grief, or spiritual walk.
Fun Facts
I enjoy reading health magazines and suspense novels, gardening, cooking, and traveling—especially long road trips. I love hiking and have climbed Mount Monadnock, the second most-climbed mountain in the world.
I have also completed the 26.2‑mile Tough Ruck for three consecutive years, earning three official Boston Marathon medals, and I participate in the 20‑mile Mammoth Marches.
Fun things to do—going to the movies with my family or watching some old-time classics at home.
